Termination of the ground Handling Services at Aichi Prefectural Nagoya Airport (RJNA) at the end of September 2017

It is with sincere regret that we inform you of the decision to terminate ground handling operations at the Aichi Prefecture Nagoya Airport (RJNA)

As of September 30, 2017, Nakanihon Air Co, Ltd will no longer provide ground handling service for international transit aircraft.
This decision has been made for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is the decline in transient activity,  the extended delay in the implementation of a world class aircraft development program which will be based at our airport. It has not been an easy decision.

RJNA was purchased by the Aichi government in 2005 for the explicit purpose of servicing international business aircraft travelers. Our airport was the first of its kind in Japan, and we developed a comprehensive and efficient model to handle all the needs of our customers. Over the years, Nakanihon filled an important need in providing quick services to aircraft which would have otherwise been unable to access the Tokyo airports in a reasonable timeframe. These dynamics changed in 2010 with the opening of easier access to both Haneda Airport near downtown Tokyo and also at Narita; for those desiring to land in Tokyo, the need to divert to Nagoya vanished.

As well, we are extremely proud of our achievements over the years, most recently with hosting the Solar Impulse2 project for over a month, in June 2015, when their solar powered aircraft made an unscheduled stop due to weather and mechanical issues. Our quick actions during this emergency landing and support during their subsequent stay contributed to the final success of this extraordinary undertaking.

Please accept our heartfelt thanks for the opportunity to meet you, and to support your important missions when coming to Japan. We also wish to thank you for your referrals and help in expanding our network of loyal customers; for this, we are eternally grateful!

As this has been a difficult decision, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your understanding. Starting on October 1, 2017, when coming to RJNA, please consult your international services providers to arrange ground handling at our airport. I am confident the alternative handler will be able to meet you every need, while providing the same quality experience that you have become accustomed to when flying to RJNA.
